Ghana’s emerging rapper, Kwesi Arthur been nominated for the 2018 edition of the Black Entertainment Television (BET) Awards.

The rapper has been nominated in the Viewer’s Choice ‘Best International Act (Africa) category and will face stiff competition from South Africa’s Afro-Soul artiste Sjava and Nigerian singer, song-writer Niniola.

The Ground UP record label rapper recently won the Hip-Pop Song Of The Year in the 2018 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards by defeating likes of Teephlow, Sarkodie, Kojo Cue and B4bonah.

The inspirational ‘Anthem’ and ‘Grind’ artiste received confirmation of his BET Nomination via the verified @BET_Africa account on twitter.

The event which happens on Sunday, June 24 2018 will have Jamie Foxx on stage as a second time host of the awards show, having hosted in 2009.

BET Awards 2018 happens at the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles, and airs on BET. Also scheduled to step on stage are Leslie Jones, Anthony Anderson, Tracee Ellis Ross, Chris Rock, Mo’Nique and Kevin Hart.

Ghana’s Sarkodie and Stonebwoy who previously won the prestigious award as 2012 and 2015 Best International Act Africa winners respectively couldn’t get any nomination this year but the Tema based Ghanaian rapper made it.
