Swedish-based Ghanaian winger Kingsley Sarfo has been sentenced at Malmö District Court for 2 years and 8 months in prison for rape against children.
The Malmo FF attacker also faces expulsion from the country after his jail term and will pay compensation.
The 23-year-old who had been suspended by his Club was said to have forcefully involved in sexual activities and had since been on trial.
Sarfo on several occasion has been allegedly been involved in the scandalous act since joining Allsvenskan giants Malmo FF.
The pacy attacker who is been accused of the offense has on countless times denied the charges levelled against him. He argued he didn’t know the girl was under-aged.
A case which was initially adjourned finally received its verdict on Friday when a Malmo District Court presided over Judge Ola Lavie passed judgment on the former Sirius midfielder as he has been sentenced to two-years and eight month jail sentence.
The MFF player was charged with two cases of rape against under-aged children. One of the offenses should have occurred somewhere 1 - 7 September 2016 and the second should have also occurred on June 1, 2017.
The prosecutor’s main evidence has been conversations on social media. Kingsley Sarfo refuses to write the messages but is disputed by the District Court, which means the 14 year-year-old girl has also been clear with her age.
The fact that he met with the girl and had sex in a friend’s apartment; the court disagrees with the girl’s age. The girl said the intercourse was voluntary.
The girl in question as exclusively revealed in an interview on Silver Sports by Bechem United CEO Prof Darling, is also Swedish-based Ghanaian who hails from Bantama in Kumasi.
The latest decision keeps the talented football out of action for at least the next three years.
Kingsley Sarfo received his debut Black Stars call-up in the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Uganda after turning down an offer to represent Sweden at International level.
