Ghanaian Premier League giants, Accra Hearts of Oak have parted ways with head coach Henry Wellington following a poor run of results in the Zylofon Cash Premier League.
A statement on the official website of the Phobians states that the decision to relieve the coach from his post culminated after a meeting with the Board of Directors of the club concluded to terminate his contract.
The club’s statement released on Friday June 8 2018 also revealed that goalkeeper’s trainer of the club, Jerry Adjei has also been relieved of his job.
Henry Wellington was confirmed as interim head coach of Hearts of Oak in February 2018 after Frank Nuttal was shown the exit for his participation in what the club described as “underhand dealings”.
According to the statement signed by Kwame Opare Addo, the team’s spokesperson, Hearts are on the hunt for a new Head Coach and a Director of Football.
Hearts of Oak’s U-20 team, Auroras trainer Seth Hoffman has been named as the interim head coach, while Wellington’s assistant Nii Dodoo Odoom has been reassigned to the U-20 team.
Hearts are currently lying 13th on the league log of the Zylofon Cash Premier League with 17 points after recording 4 wins, 5 draws and 5 losses and their fans are not happy with the team’s output.
