Medeama have suspended goalkeeper Eric Ofori Antwi indefinitely for unprofessional conduct, GHANAsoccernet.com exclusively reports.
Antwi has been frozen out of the team after going 'AWOL'(Absent Without Leave), just five months after joining the side.
The former MTN FA cup winners declared the goalkeeper missing and have even gone on to announce him indefinitely suspended from the club.
Antwi, who joined the Tarkwa-based from Asante Kotoko, went missing this week.
The 2016 CAF Confederation Cup campaigners have indefinitely suspended the former Amidaus Professionals shot-stopper for unprofessional conduct.
GHANAsoccernet.com understands the conduct of the former Kotoko glovesman has shocked officials of the Mauve and Yellows.
Anwti, an ex-Ghana Under-20 goalkeeper, joined Medeama to revive his career after struggling at local giants Kotoko.
He emerged the side's number first-choice at the start of the season until he was knocked back by a shoulder injury.
Deputy Goalee Yaw Ansah Fufuro has stepped up in his absence, excelling heavily in the last four games.
However Ofori Antwi in a swift response to news gathering steam that he is unprofessional and not keeping his side of the bargain has told the media that he has respectfully asked that his contract with the Tarwa-based club is terminated.
“I have given them a letter that I would want to quit,” he said.
He however refused to explain what is triggering his decision, saying “I’m not happy with one or two issues and they know it.”
Ofori Antwi has a two-year deal with the Tarkwa-based side.
