The Under 17 team of Ghana, Black Stars will face Gabon, host nation in the on-going Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in their Group A match at the Stade de Port-Gentil on Wednesday.Kick-off is at 19h30.

The Black Starlets win against the "The Junior Panthers" will ensure a safe passage to the FIFA U17 World Cup in India later this year.

Ghana opened the Under 17 Africa Cup of Nations in Port Gentil with a big win, lashing their Cameroonian opponents 4-0 last Sunday.

Ghana are therefore coming off a morale-boosting victory over Cameroon in their opening group match.

Gabon were humiliated 5-1 by Guinea in their first group match on Sunday afternoon.

The defeat left Gabon on position three without a single point. They are only ahead of fourth placed Cameroon on goal difference.

Starlet Rashid Alhassan is suffering from Malaria and he is likely to miss today’s game and should there be any replacement Bismark Terry Owusu will take his place according to reports.
