Optimism seems to be on the rise for Black Princesses striker Sandra Owusu Ansah as the pacy attacker expresses confidence of reaching the knock out stage of the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup next month in France.
The team is expected to leave Ghana to continue with preparations for the upcoming World Cup in Spain after their preliminary warm up at the Ghanaman Soccer Center of Excellence in Prampram.
Sandra, a member of the Ghana U17 side that represented Ghana at the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup in Papua New Guinea is sure her side will make Ghana proud in France next month.
“We are preparing well for the competition and we hope to make ourselves and Ghana proud,” she said
“Everything is going on well with us in camp and hopefully by the team we get to France we will be ready for the competition.
“Our target is to get out of the group stages and then we will look at winning it.”
The team will move camp to Spain to intensify their preparations before moving to France to where the tournament will be hosted.
Ghana will open the competition against host France in group A with the Netherlands and New Zealand their other rivals in the pool.
Ghana plays France on August 5th at the Stade de La Rabine in Vannes.
