Head Coach of Aduana stars Kenichi Yatsuhashi has credited his team's perseverance for their 2-1 win against Congolese giants AS Vita Club on Wednesday in a Group A match of CAF Confederation Cup match.
The Dormaa-based Club were without a win in the first two games following a home draw to Raja Athletic Club of Morocco and an away lose to ASEC Mimosas (Cote d’Ivoire), started the game strongly with new head coach Kenichi Yatshuashi fielding a familiar yet rigorous side.
Two first half goals by strikers Bright Adjei and Yahaya Mohammed was enough for Ghana's Aduana Stars to pick their first three points at the expense of AS Vita of DRCongo.
Speaking on SilverFM’s midday sports ‘SportsCenter’ with Edmund Osafo Addo, the former Inter Allies coach who was full of praise regarding his team's victory attributed the team’s performance to hardwork on the part of the players.
“First of all we already have very good players and the only thing I did was to put those players together at their rightful positions with hard work and that was how we won the game”
The Japanese trainer was superintending over his first match with the Dormaa-based side haven secured a contract with them few days.
He however indicated that he encountered difficulty getting his first team to power the team to victory.
“It was extremely difficult for me getting my first eleven because of the very little time we had in hand…..we had only 4 training sections within 1week…so yes it was very difficult for me”.
Aduana Stars who won their first game of the competition with a 2-1 win over AS Vita Club have moved to second spot with 4 points, the same as third-placed side AS Vita Club.
Aduana Stars take on As Vita Club for the second leg encounter on Sunday July 29in Congo before they lock horns with Asec Mimosas of Abidjan on August 19at Dormaa Ghana and Raja Casablanca on 29th August.
