A member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Communications Team in the Ashanti region Mr. Ivan Bilson Yeboah, has lashed out to the ruling New Patriotic Party on the upcoming ministerial reshuffle and has called for some ministries to be scrapped.
Mr. Bilson believes that Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo's led administration will do the ordinary Ghanaian a greater good if only he manages to reduce his size of government in the supposed upcoming reshuffle by scrapping the Zongo Development Ministry, Business Development Ministry and the Regional Integration Development Ministry.
“For instance, talk about the sanitation ministry, Nana Addo in the past, when in opposition never attended any monthly clean up exercise established by the previous Mahama administration.
“Being an opposition leader, and if he believed in keeping the city and the country clean, he should have been part and parcel of that process which he never did but when he came into power, he has established a whole ministry to take charge of the cleaning of the city,” he roared
Silveronline24.com caught up with the NDC Communicator in an interview after appearing on Silver FM’s ‘Ghana Montie’ show hosted by Nana Kwabena Ampratwum, made it known that if indeed the Nana Akufo- Addo led government really mean to save the public purse as they professed, then he should listen to the cries of the people and use this opportunity to reduce the size of his government.
“They have 110 ministers and each of them has three police officers assigned to take charge. One is always with them and two take charge in their homes as day and night guards.
Each minister has also been assigned a cook, garden boy, personal assistants, driver, cleaner and a gateman. All these people are paid with the tax payers’ money including fat allowances and per diem.” he said.
Mr. Bilson added, instead of the President reshuffling his ministers, he should rather cut down the size of his government so that Ghanaians will have value for money as they have been preaching.
“Hospitals are in need of beds and Doctors, the Free SHS needs money to take shape, the Economy is in crisis as businesses and banks are collapsing and you are coming up with reshuffling whilst you can cut the size down to give value for money and save the public purse as claiming.” Ivan Bilson barked.
