The Deputy Commissioner at the EC, Georgina Opoku Amankwah, has been asked to proceed on leave by the Economic and Organised Crimes Office (EOCO) to assist the organisation begin investigations into alleged misapplication of staff endowment funds at the Electoral Commission (EC).

Subsequently the Chief Accountant, Mr Kwaku Owusu Agyei-Larbi has also been asked to proceed on leave pending the outcome of investigations into the alleged misappropriation of GH¢480,000 from the Endowment Fund at the Electoral Commission.

Head of Public Affairs at the EC, Eric Kofi Dzakpaso who confirmed to the Media in Accra, indicates that their compulsory leave is just to allow for investigations into the allegations leveled by some staff of the commission.

EOCO in a letter dated, July 4, 2017 addressed to the Chairpoersn, Mrs Charlotte Osei demanded that the senior officers of the commission be made to proceed on leave to pave way for investigations into “the loss of about GH¢480,000 from the Endowment Fund at the Electoral Commission.”
