The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, has threatened to quit politics if President Nana Addo’s government fails to deliver on their campaign promises to turn the country in the positive direction.
The Chairman makes this statement in wake of recurring outcry from communicators, serial callers, Constituency executives, Assembly members in the region over lack of direction as regards to appointments and job opportunities.
In an interview on 'Omanbapa' political show hosted by Oheneba, Chairman Wontumi paid heed to the yell from the members saying "it is a natural trait of humans and the party expected such attitudes even for the seven months of the NPP in office".
According to the Chairman it is rather the opposite regarding appointments in the Ashanti," the region has seen the highest number in terms of Ministers , Chief Executive Officers, Board Of Directors/Members appointments"
He stressed the President's loyalty to development policies of the region by fulfilling the campaign promises which the Chairman urged members of the party to keep their commitment and believe the NPP can do it.
" NPP need some little time from its seven months in government to build what the NDC used 8 years to destroy ".
He promised to keep on the fight for all the assurances from the government to the region to see the light of day, he said this in reaction to the recent feud gathering momentum between the Party's Ashanti Regional Communication's Director Kwasi Kyei and some 'Serial Callers' over an amount of money.
The communicators alleged their director in the Ashanti Region has kept an amount of Ten Thousand Ghana cedis supposedly from the presidency to the party to himself.
