Ghanaian highlife musician, Papa Yankson has died at the age of 73.
The "Okukuseku" hitmaker passed away 9am Friday, July 21 at his residence in Dansoman, Accra after an illness.
The news has since been confirmed by the son of the Okukuseku hit maker Silas Yankson.
"Ace highlife musician...Paapa yankson is reported dead at his dansoman residence" a post on Facebook handle of Silas read.
Paapa Yankson recently made an appearance at the 2017 edition of the VGMA where he gave a touching speech about coming back to the music scene soon. He was wheel-chair bound until his death.
He picked the Lifetime Achievement Honour at the 18th edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards held earlier this year.
The stenographer turned musician told the story of how he struggled with fellow musician ace Charles Kofi Amankwaah Mann who popularly known as CK Mann before making it big.
He dedicated the award to his "good friend and brother, CK Mann."
Paapa Yankson had more than 15 albums to his credit
