Osman Rahim Hassan , Executive Director of Finders Forum Ghana( FFG) has made an assertion that the hierarchy of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) must take a big risk in handling issues surrounding possible restoration of the suspended General Secretary, Mr Kwabena Agyepong.

More support groups from some constituencies and polling station executives of the NPP in the Brong Ahafo Region, Cape Coast are building up for reinstatement of the suspended General Secretary, Kwabena Agyepong, as some party activists have also joined the appeal for his immediate recall.

The petitioners argued that, his conduct towards the party, even after his indefinite suspension in 2015, was evidence of his unwavering loyalty.

Speaking on SilverFM's political analysis show 'Omanbapa' hosted by Kwasi Malik Sarfo Kantanka (PROF) , Mr Hassan noted that the on-going demands by some members of the party to recall suspended General Secretary, Kwabena Agyepong is a "tough assignment and decision for the NPP which can either make them succeed or fail completely if care is not taken"

He urged the leadership and executives occupying various positions in the New Patriotic Party not to split heads over the situation and to allow smooth functioning of the party constitution to prove its sensitiveness to the needs of its members.

The NPP suspended its 2nd Vice Chairman, Sammy Crabbe, alongside Mr. Agyapong in 2015, after they were accused of publicly rebelling against the party’s decision to indefinitely suspend its National Chairman, Paul Afoko.

Mr. Afoko and Mr. Crabbe, subsequently filed a suit over their suspension, but both suits were thrown out by the court.

Unlike the two, Mr. Agyapong did not seek legal action, which some have cited as proof of his loyalty to the party and an argument in favour of his reinstatement.

Some party foot soldiers in the Ashanti region have also pleaded for the return of the General Secretary arguing he has conducted himself gracefully well despite his suspension.
