Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko presented the 2017 FA Cup Trophy to the club owner and Life Patron Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II at the Manhyia Palace on Wednesday.

Leading the delegation to the Manhyia Palace was Executive Chairman, Dr. Kwame Kyei joined by the management, technical team and players.

The Porcupine Warriors defied the disappointment of missing out on the Ghana Premier League title to produce an outstanding show , thrashing Hearts of Oak 3 - 1 in the MTN FA Cup final game at Tamale last month.

The Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II in his congratulatory address hailed the Club’s CEO Dr.Kwame Kyei for his efforts in ensuring the Porcupine Warriors attain better heights.

“I sometimes call Kwame Kyei to ask him if he would need some financial supports, but he always says he has enough money to take care of the club, and I have never heard him knocking at my door for money to manage Kotoko since he took over,” Asantehene praises Dr. Kyei.

Dr. Kwame Kyei was mandated by his royal highness (Otumfuo Osei Tutu) head the Club for the next three years.

The business tycoon who assumed office last year has solely funded the Club without the help of the Club’s patron.

The club reported at the seat of the Royal Highness, Manhyia at about 10:30 am with the entourage meeting the world-respected monarch at about 12 noon to present the coveted and glittering trophy.
