Comic Kumawood star, Yaw Dabo believes that one of the challenges confronting Asante Kotoko Sporting Club presently is a ‘star striker’ to augment the services of the pacy attacker Saddick Mohammed as the club plans to bolster its squad ahead of next season’s Ghana Premier League and Confederation Cup.

According to the budding Kumawood comedian who has passion for football before venturing into the movie industry, the porcupine warriors do not need more than two or three players to beef up its squad.

In an interview on SilverSports with KingEben, the actor cum sportsman said “Kotoko as a team cannot boast of any creative midfielder, typical dribbler and a sharp shooter like the Argentine ‘Messi’ who could use his abilities to create a blueprint to produce significant contribution to the game”

He advised the head coach of the Kumasi based GPL side to import the habit of developing the talents in the team and not throw his bet on signing two or three players to beef up the squad.

The 2015 Kumawood Award winner also revealed that he sometimes acts as the coach for his teams in matches because he thinks most of the coaches are not good enough.

Asante Kotoko have told five players they will not feature in their plans for next season.

The list includes veteran goalkeeper Isaac Amoako, Kwame Boateng-who spent the second half of last season on loan at relegated Great Olympics.

The rest are defenders Evans Quao, Atta Kusi and striker Emmanuel Osei, who was loaned out to Bechem United last term.

The Porcupine Warriors will know their opponents for the preliminary round of Africa's continental club competition on Wednesday as the Confederation of African Football conduct a draw in Cairo, Egypt.
