Obed Acheampong, the Public Relations Officer of Kumasi Asante Kotoko has said that the club's plans to bolster its squad ahead of next season are under way behind the scenes but has 'no interest' in signing former Hearts of Oak defender, Vincent Atinga.
”The targets Steve Pollack listed, Vincent Atinga is not part but i don’t know if he is free agent now, he [Steve Pollack] will tell Kotoko to go for him, as at now Vincent Atinga is not on the plans of Kotoko.”
”There is a list of players the coach needs . We believe in him and do what the coach [Steve Pollack] needs . There are no excuses at the end of the day if he’s explaining issues.”
Atinga is among an array of top stars seeking to quit the Rainbow club after he applied for floating player status from the Ghana Football Association.
The player said that he was still considering offers from abroad and that any decision to return to Hearts would largely depend on the club’s willingness to meet his terms, which is a GH¢70,000 signing on fee for three years.
Hearts striker Kwame Kizito also openly chastised the club for frustrating him from moving abroad by failing to release his International Transfer Certificate (ITC) to enable him to join Swedish club, BK Hacken.
