Six persons died on the spot at Beahu in the Ahanta West District of the Western Region on Friday when an ambulance conveying a patient collided with a truck.

The ambulance according to eye witnesses was conveying a patient from Dixcove to the Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital.

The drivers of the two vehicles mysteriously survived the accident.

The cause of the deadly accident is yet unclear.

The truck was carrying manganese from Takoradi to Tarkwa, source told.

The Western Regional Director of the Motor Transport and Traffic Directorate (MTTD) of the Ghana Police Service, Richard Appiah, confirmed the accident.

He said the two survivors are receiving treatment at the Effia Nkwanta hospital.
