President Akufo Addo has expressed words of condolence on the sad departure of one of Ghana's young and iconic Dancehall Songstress Ebony Reigns.
"Saddened by the news of the death of the young, but extremely talented female artiste, Priscilla Opoku-Kwarteng, aka Ebony Reigns".
He added in his tweet ; "By all accounts, she had a very promising music career. My deepest condolences to her family, and to the families of the two others who died in the tragic accident".
20 year Ebony Reigns died in an on head collision with a VIP bus at Nyamebekyere a village near Bechem and Mankranso in the Ahafo Ano South, a district in the Ashanti Region on Thursday, after visiting her family in Sunyani.
Mankraso Government Hospital’s morgue, in the Ahafo North-South district of the Ashanti region confirmed in their possession of the mortal remains of Ghanaian dancehall musician Priscilla Opoku-Kwarteng, known in showbiz circles as Ebony.
The sad and painful news indicate that a military officer and a young girl in her mid fifteens also died in the ghastly accident involving the black Jeep car of the musician and the VIP bus at about 11Pm on Thursday.
Ebony with her group was on board a Jeep car with registration number AS 487-16 when it was involved in a head-on collision with the VIP bus.
Ghana’s favourite female dancehall artiste, Ebony Reigns was expected to headline a show in Belgium on Saturday.
The show which is dubbed “Ghana Meets Naija” show is expected to feature other artistes including Ghana’s EL and Olamide.
The show which is put together by UJ Events based in Belgium has Queensie, Slimm Pizzle, Arikiboy, Manlike Stunna, Laud Shaba, Bakilla, Lord Caxton, and many others.
MCs for the night are Bra Fiifi (UK) and Charlene (Norway). Deejays on turntables are DJ Skillzington, DJ Principal, DJ Kobby, DJ Kofi, and DJ Kapo.
