The 19th Vodafone Music Awards – VGMA 2018 came off last Saturday at the Accra International Conference Centre on Saturday, April 14, 2018 with lots of surprises, glitz and glamour from the red carpet to stage performances and to the Awards.

Late dancehall songstress Priscilla Opoku-Kwarteng known by the stage name Ebony was posthumously crowned "Artiste of the Year" at the exhilarating event.

She becomes the late afro-dancehall artiste has now become the first ever Ghanaian female artiste to win the “Artiste of the Year” award at the annual Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.

Also, the former Rufftown Records/Midas Touch Inc. artist, Ebony Reigns is the first artiste to win the most coveted award, posthumously.

Lynx Entertainment label artiste Kuami Eugene won the "Best New Artiste of the Year" award. Fancy Gadam also won a top award on the night; "Song of the Year" with "Total Cheat" featuring Sarkodie.

The night saw some great performances from Sarkodie, Samini, King Promise Stonebwoy, Tiwa Savage from Nigeria and Nasty C from South Africa.
