Executive Board Chairman of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Dr. Kwame Kye ihas promised fans and sympathizers of the porcupine warriors that the club will rebound to winning ways after a two match winless run.
Asante Kotoko lost to Dreams FC by 1-0 last Sunday at the Dawu Sports Stadium whiles drawing 1-1 with Berekum Chelsea in their midweek clash on Wednesday at the Baba Yara Stadium in the Ghana Premier League.
Irate fans of the Kumasi based side launched scathing attacks on the players and officials at the end of their struggling side’s draw in the team’s match day 8 GPL fixture against Berekum Chelsea.
However, the CEO of the Club expressed optimism about his team’s success whiles he addressed the charged supporters in the VIP stands and called on them to rally behind the team.
“I promise you that the team will bounce back from its current appalling situation as soon as possible.”
“I plead with you (fans) to be patient with me and continue to support the club” he lamented.
The businessman assured supporters of the team’s success not only in the nation’s topflight but to conquer Africa before he leaves the club.
“I can’t ruin my huge investment. I’ve done for the club and leave it like that.
“My wish is to conquer Africa and I will make sure I deliver on my promise before I leave the club,” he stressed.
He also beg for patience, urged the supporters to remain calm and keep their unstinting believe in the club since managing a club is not an individual role but an inclusive agenda.
“The club (Kotoko) belong to you (fans) and without your support I can’t do it alone.
“Building a football club successfully comes with many temptations and it doesn’t come easy,” he added.
“I would like to thank all the fans for their support so far and urge you to continue supporting the team,” he concluded.
Kotoko will travel to the Malik Jabir Sports Stadium on Sunday to lock horns with Wa All Stars in the matchday 9 of the Ghana Premier League.
